#3 Enjoying Your Job

 Enjoying Your Job

Do you ever wake up dreading going to work? Or perhaps worry about going to work the next day? I'm sure all of us get that feeling sometimes. Whether you have a full-time career that you love, or you're like me with a part time job, there's bound to be things that you dislike about work. Most of the time it has nothing to do with being a lazy, it can be the environment, coworkers, management, or it simply might not be the kind of work you want to be doing. I've personally dealt with issues in just about every one of those areas, here's a couple of things I've found help me get through my shifts.

One of the main issues I find with my job is boredom, who would've thought. The first big thing I use to combat this is listening to music, my job doesn't allow earbuds or anything, luckily my hair is long enough to hide it. This may not be an option for those with more professional or skilled positions. However, for those who can, it's a great way to get your mind off the time and space out while you get your work done, as long as it doesn't affect the quality of your work.

For those who can't incorporate music into their work habits, Try socializing with your coworkers more often. I get it, you might not like everyone you work with, but you might find out you like them more than you think if you try to make genuine conversation with them. I can't tell you how many times I've disliked a coworker because of their attitude etc. However, when I'm put in a position with them and get the chance to really talk to them, normally my whole opinion on them changes. So go give it a shot, worst case scenario you don't have anything in common and nothing clicks, at least you tried. Socializing in general can make your job so much more enjoyable, especially if you get caught up in watching the clock often.

Ultimately, the biggest key I've found for helping to look at work in a better light, applies to all thing really. It comes down to your mindset. There are going to be inconveniences that you can't control, the only thing you can control is how you deal with them. If you go into work every day
thinking about how bad your job is, then you're bound to hate being there. Go into work feeling like you're going to have a good time, and you just might. This may not apply to everyone but there's no harm in giving it a shot.

  1. I really enjoyed reading this blog, its great. I believe finding a job in career path you like is important because like explained in your blog you want to enjoy your work and not have to wake up dreading it. I can say that I enjoy my job as a Automotive Technician and things that help me also get through the day like said; is listening to music. Like I will listen to music as I am working and it will honestly also put me in the zone and help me work faster. Are their other habits that you can put yourself through to prepare you for a days of work?
